In order to carry out plan for establishing the anational-level petrochemical base, Tianjin willinvest RMB 65 billion yuan to build up a highlevelBohai Chemical Park, which will be thefirst modern chemical industrial base in China,integrated with marine chemical, petrochemicaland coal chemical industries. At present,the overall construction has been in progress.

This current project is locating in TianjinLin’gang Industrial Park, an area in the southof Tianjin Port. The overall planning of BohaiChemical Park is 10 square kilometers. Basedon the plan of constructing national-levelpetrochemical base in the Binhai New Area,Tianjin Bohai Chemical Industry (Group) Co.will work on this chemical industrial park duringthe “Eleventh Five-Year Plan”, which is oneof the 60 key industrial projects in Tianjin.

There are 41 projects in the overall constructionplan of Tianjin Bohai Chemical Park, which willtake 8 years and 3 phases to finish. It is estimatedthat after the completion of the construction,the production sales will reach RMB 105.8 billionyuan, and RMB 15.6 billion yuan of tax.

Phase-1 construction mainly deals with 16 projectswith total investment of RMB 22.6 billionyuan, including the remove and reconstructionof Tianjin Soda Plant, projects connected tothe ethylene project, supporting public utilityconstruction, and logistic projects, etc.. Allof these projects will have been on stream by2009. Phase-2 construction is mainly for the12 projects with total investment of RMB 11.9billion which are integrated with petrochemicalprogram, including constructing the Vinyl acetatewith production capacity of 300,000 tonsper year. All of the projects in Phase 2 will becompleted by 2011. Phase-3 construction is for13 projects with total investment of RMB 30.5billion, including the downstream derivativeproduction and supporting projects for integrationof refining and marine chemical industry.All of the projects in Phase 3 will be completedby 2015.

Upon the completion of Bohai Chemical Park,it will be first chemical industrial manufacturingbase with advanced technology, which is wellfacilitated,and integrated by upstream anddownstream products. Based on the idea ofestablishing a modern industrial manufacturingbase, Bohai Chemical Park undertakes thescientific management, economical resourcedivision, and environment friendly measures. Itwill be a bright spot in the Binhai New Area.
