After four-month test in France, the world’sbiggest water-cycles managing company VeoliaWater finally decided to cooperate with TianjinMotimo Membrane Technology Ltd two yearsago. The France-based company also plannedto purchase Motimo’s products since then.

Two years later, the largest hollow fibermembrane producing center in Asia was successfullylaunched in the Binhai New Area ofTianjin. The center boosts its own intellectualproperties and core techniques, making it theresearch center of China’s membrane technology.It reached a sales volume of RMB 500 millionyuan.

At present, Motorola and McDonald’s have officiallyappointed Motimo’s MF equipment astheir sole pure water filtering products.The company has also left its noticeable markson multi-heating separation method, one ofthe most advanced technologies of separationmembrane. Its research has entered thesecond phase, making it another milestoneChina’s technology in this field.

Separation membrane technique is mainly adoptedin recycling water, purifying the pollutedwater, making the pure water, and extractingmedicines from other elements. It reachesvarious fields including energy, environmentalprotection, and biology.

However, it becomes more useful for Chinaif the technology can help improving thechances of re-using the water. “China’s averagewater recourse is only one sixth of the world’saverage level. It is an urgent task to solve thisproblem,” Zhang Hongwei, secretary of theParty Committee of Tianjin Polytechnic Universityand chairman of the board of Motimo.

Zhang also mentioned that the center isaimed at researching and developing the hollowfiber MF membrane and hollow fiber ultrafiltrationmembranes with big market potentials.It will focus on environmental protection,desalination, modern biology, and medicineand food, building a series of model projectsof membranes.

The company now has three core techniqueswith international level: CMF, MBR, and TWF. Ithas spinning 10 producing lines, 68 productswith China’s patents and 3 international patents.The company also has completed morethan 100 researching tasks for the country andsome provinces. It also has become a highlevelresearch center in the world. Its anti-pollutionmembrane has attracts world’s attention.

Motimo also takes response to build a onemillion-square-meter membrane producingcenter for China because of its advanced technologyand good performance in the market.

Motimo now is building another national membraneresearch center in the Binhai New Areaof Tianjin, and it now targets intelligent membranesat present.
