In September, 2008, the Summer DAVOS Forumwill be held in Tianjin Binhai New Area,and International Exhibition Center will be themain venue.

On August 1, 2008, the starting ceremony ofOlympic torch relay in the Binhai New Area washeld in Tianjin Port. The torch went throughTianjin Port, Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, and12 main avenues of TEDA, and then reachedthe international exhibition center at last stop.As the biggest and most functional modernexhibition in Tianjin, International ExhibitionCenter has become a landmark and tourist attractionin Binhai New Area.

Binhai International Exhibition Center coversa land area of 169,000 square meters, withconstruction area of 61,000 square meters. It isthe most professional exhibition in Tianjin. Notonly commodity exhibitions and trade negotiations,but also large-scale meetings, banquets,rallies, and celebrations could be held here.In May, 2008, Tianjin International Finance andInvestment Exposition were held in Binhai InternationalExhibition Center. The exposition madea platform of direct exchanges and financialcommunication for financial institutions, Business Corporation and members of the public.

In June, 2008, the fifth International MobilePhone Industry Exposition was held in theBinhai International Exhibition Center, withexhibition area of 18,000 square meters. It hasbecome a stage for business negotiation, technologyexchange and effective promoting.

In 2008, besides Summer DAVOS Forum, 40expositions will be held in Binhai InternationalExhibition Center.

The Binhai International Exhibition Center islocated at the east of TEDA Fashion Square.The main body is two-storey building. The firstphaseproject costs RMB 540 million yuan whichwas completed in the end of 2003. The secondphase of the project will start on June, 2007.

It is said in the Government Work Report, Tianjinwill focus on producer services and developmodern services like exposition, information,consultation and traveling.

The subject of 2008 Summer DAVOS Forumis “Next Wave of Growth”. It will be held onSeptember 27 to 28, 2008, in the Binhai InternationalExhibition Center. More than 1500entrepreneurs, politicians and scholars from 70countries and regions are expected to attendthis forum. At that time, several subjects will bediscussed, including “economic globalization”,“risk control” and “the process of urbanization,”“technological innovation”, “environmentalprotection” and “a rising China”.
