On the plenary meeting of the preparatory and coordinating committee of 2010 Tianjin Summer Davos Forum on July 22, the reporter learnt that 43 star-rated hotels have been upgraded and 9,000 attendants received on-the-job-training for the Summer Davos Forum.

According to the introduction of Mr. She Qingwen, the director of Tianjin Tourism Administration, in order to accelerate hotel constructions in Tianjin and further enhance the facilities of the existing hotels, the municipal government invested 900 million RMB Yuan on the restoration project of 43 star-rated hotels, including 7 five-star hotels, 15 four-star hotels, 16 three-star hotels, etc. Presently, Crystal Palace Hotel has finished its restoration and resumed operation; the restoration of Astor Hotel will be finished by August and open for business. Meanwhile, Tianjin will have the construction of high-rated star hotels accelerated, increasing the number of five-star hotels to 10. By the end of this year, the hotels established and operated on the rate of five stars in Tianjin will amount to 20.
