For the past few days, Tianjin citizens from all walks of life have proactively enrolled in “Approaching Davos”, the 2010 Tianjin Summer Davos Forum “citizen representatives” selection activity organized by Tianjin Summer Davos Forum and jointly held by Tianjin People’s Radio Station. A few days ago, a hundred contestants entering into preliminary test went through rigorous examination of the interlocutors.

As introduced by the organizer, the 100 contestants were divided into five groups, namely education, technology, enterprise, finance and synthesis, to receive rigorous assessment of the panel of judges consisting of the experts representing growing enterprises, research institutes, Party School of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, etc. Cheng Zhuolun, one of the contestants entering into preliminary test, coming from Tianjin TEDA International Holding (Group) Co., Ltd., told the reporter that she’d made sufficient preparations by improving her English and mastering large amount of knowledge about Davos. “I have prepared some topics I am concerned about, such as some proactive explorations and efforts in the field of financial supervision worldwide in the aftermath of global financial crisis, China’s changing role in the arena of world economy, etc.”

It is learnt that a total of 25 contestants will be selected as the candidates of the 2010 Tianjin Summer Davos Forum Citizen Representatives Selection Activity after the preliminary testing, and enter the next round of knockout testing for the top 10.
