  The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2012 was held at the beginning of the Chinese dragon year. On the evening of 26th local time, “Tianjin Night” was held by Tianjin municipal government in the Davos Conference Center, main venue of the World Economic Forum. The auspicious traditional palace lanterns, delicate kites, exquisite handmade paper-cuts and hanging papers cut with auspicious signs and words made the venue full of flavor of a happy Chinese spring festival. Meanwhile, all the screens in the conference center were displaying Tianjin publicity film, showing the charm and romance of the city. World Economic Forum Chairman Klaus Schwab on invitation attended the activity and delivered a speech. Deputy Mayor Ren Xuefeng and all the Tianjin delegates were present. Besides, foreign dignitaries, well-known experts and scholars, and representatives from international organizations and world top 500 enterprises, altogether over 700 guests, attended the activity.

  In his speech, Klaus Schwab said, Tianjin was an important strategic cooperative partner of the world economic forum and had a deep affection for the Summer Davos. The hospitality of the people and the rapid economic growth of the city made us full of confidence for the 2012 Annual Meeting of New Champions in Tianjin.

  During the activity, Tianjin delegation introduced the economic and social development of the city and the development and opening up of Binhai New Area, and the preparation of the 2012 Annual Meeting of New Champions.
