On April 20, the Inter-Ministerial Coordination Group (IMCG), comprising Department of Foreign Affairs of the National Development and Reform Commission, Department of International Organizations and Conferences of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Guard Bureau of Ministry of Public Security and Bureau One of the State Council Information Office, paid a visit to Tianjin for preparing the Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2012, known as the 2012 Summer Davos Forum. Vice Mayor Ren Xuefeng met the group and competent leaders from Tianjin Davos Preparatory Office, Tianjin Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, Tianjin Foreign Affairs Office, Tianjin Public Security Guard Bureau and Binteng Convention & Exhibition Company accompanied the group throughout the whole visit.

　　Vice Mayor Ren Xuefeng expressed that thanks to great support from relevant ministries and commissions, Tianjin’s international popularity and influence have been significantly promoted because it hosted the Summer Davos Forum twice successfully. The participants, leaders’ influence and the forum’s scale of this year’s Forum will be greatly increased and the preparatory work will be heavier. The IMCG chose to visit Tianjin and instruct work when breakthroughs had just been made and in-depth advancement would be made in an all-around way, which played an active and vigorous role in promoting the quality, level and effect of the preparatory work. The Preparatory Office should carefully learn and implement the advice raised by the IMCG, duly feed back and report, and spare no effort in doing a good job.

　　The IMCG surveyed the arrangement of Meijiang Convention & Exhibition Center in detail and communicated with responsible persons from the Preparatory Office and the venue managers. Tianjin Davos Preparatory Office reported the progress made since December 2011 from ten aspects and the key task arrangement of the following phase.

　　The IMCG confirmed the work Tianjin has made for preparing the 2012 Summer Davos Forum, and expressed that it would continue to support Tianjin to host a forum with its own features, high levels, great influence and substantial results.
