On April 19, a deployment meeting of the Preparatory & Coordination Committee of 2012 Tianjin Summer Davos Forum was held at the Multi-functional Hall of the Municipal Government’s office building, attended by 116 departments including General Office of Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, General Office of Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, Tianjin Davos Preparatory Office, district/county governments, commissions and bureaus, and universities, social organizations and enterprises as well.

　　Tianjin Davos Preparatory Office briefly presented the important status and role of the World Economic Forum in global economic development and highlighted Tianjin’s big and good projects introduced since the Summer Davos Forums held in 2008 and 2010 respectively and great achievements made in attracting investment and financing, promoting economic and trade cooperation, and upgrading urban competitiveness. To well prepare and organize a high-standard, high-level and internationalized high-end economic forum is of great significance for Tianjin’s transformation of the pattern of economic development and realization of scientific, harmonious and leading development. It mobilized the departments for doing a good job in preparation, and made detailed arrangement in ten aspects such as further improving the service level, increasing publicity both at home and abroad, ensuring security and running the forum thriftily.

　　At the meeting, it was pointed out that the 2012 Forum had a good foundation and many tasks were 2-4 months earlier than those in the last forum. By taking advantage of the precious time, on the one hand, every task should be finished carefully and thoroughly, with great improvement in quality and level. On the other hand, key tasks such as serving economic and trade talks, promoting investment attraction, facilitating cooperation and exchange, and upgrading Tianjin’s international image should be effectively carried out. It should be planned in advance for bilateral and multi-lateral talks of municipal leaders, to invite CEOs from world famous enterprises and to meet Chinese and overseas dominant media.
