The preliminary selection interview of “citizen representatives” for the 2012 Tianjin Summer Davos Forum was held on August 12 at Tianyu Hotel. About 100 competitive candidates, chosen from over 800 entries, participated in the interview. Through examination and evaluation by expert judges, 40 candidates stood out to enter tryouts of “40 for 16”.

90% of the candidates are holders of a bachelor’s degree or above, and about 40% of them hold a master’s degree or doctorate. The selection interview consists of two parts: personal presentation and expert questions. The interview focuses on examining the candidates’ understanding and knowledge of “World Economic Forum” as well as this Forum’s theme and this selection activity, and meanwhile, examining their comprehensive quality, expression ability, English level, and manners and appearance etc. For the judges, the candidates international vision, profound knowledge and new opinions have displayed the times charms of Tianjin citizens and represented their quality and image.

The tryouts of “40 for 16” of the “citizen representative” selection activity will be held from August 22 to 26 at the television hall of Tianjin TV Station; Tianjin Broadcasting Station and Tianjin TV Station will completely record the tryouts and put out the program after editing.
