On August 10, Deputy Mayor Ren Xuefeng conducted a field examination on the progress of preparatory work of exhibition construction and security maintenance etc for the 2012 Tianjin Summer Davos Forum, and presided over a coordination meeting to study key missions for the next step. Responsible staff of relevant departments of the National Development and Reform Commission and Tianjin Municipal Preparatory Committee attended the meeting.

The 2012 Tianjin Summer Davos Forum will be held with a theme of “Shape the Future Economy” from September 11 to 13 at Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center. By now, the total number of registered representatives to attend this Forum has reached 1,363, exceeding the level at the same time of 20120, and the number of formal representatives to participate in the Forum is expected to surpass 1,600. To do a good job in preparing for this Forum, the Preparatory Committee has set 24 preparatory groups, involving 116 protection units in Tianjin, and formulating and implementing 268 protection schemes and detailed schemes.

Ren Xuefeng said, Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attach great importance to the 2012 Summer Davos Forum held in Tianjin, and with great help from the National Development and Reform Commission and Tianjin Municipal Preparatory Committee and relevant departments, Tianjin’s various preparatory arrangements are under progress in order. This Forum, with a large scale and a high level, has raised higher requirements for the city’s preparatory work. Tianjin will closely cooperate with the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments, serving their respective functions, coordinating with each other and advancing steadily, so as to do a perfect job in every aspect of the preparatory work. The city will adhere to a high standard and pay attention to details to gradually elevate its level in holding great meetings. The hosting of the Forum will further propagandize and present Tianjin, improve its city influence and internationalization level, attack various domestic and foreign key elements to concentrate in the city, and serve the city’s economic and social development in a better way.
