On August 22, Assistant Foreign Minister Zhang Kunsheng came to Tianjin to inspect the preparatory work for the 2012 Summer Davos Forum, and Tianjin vice Mayor Ren Xuefeng met Zhang and his party. Both sides exchanged opinions on details of the Summer Davos Forum.

The Assistant Minister paid a visit to Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center and held a symposium to hear a report on preparatory work for the Summer Davos Forum from the responsible person. He gave full recognition to the city for its preparatory work.

Ren Xuefeng said, Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attach great importance to the 2012 Summer Davos Forum held in Tianjin, and with great support from relevant national departments, Tianjin’s various preparatory arrangements are under progress in order. This Forum features a large scale and a high level, so the city will assume a practical and careful manner in doing various missions to guarantee a success in hosting this Forum as a high-standard, high-level, featured, internationalized and safe grand meeting. In the meantime, the vice mayor said the city will hold 10 large-scale conventions and exhibitions in September, facing huge tasks as these activities are in great number, high level and large scale. At present, relevant departments are making active preparation and careful organization with all efforts in accordance with directions of Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government. Tianjin will successfully accomplish the glorious task given to the city by central and national departments with a high responsible spirit and a practical careful attitude.
