2012 Tianjin Summer Davos will be held from September 11 to 13. Currently, the research of forum topics undertaken by Tianjin is complete. The 18 topics comply remarkably with the topics drawn by World Economic Forum, and WEF indicated that they would adequately consider Chinese party’s opinion when designing the official topics. The research of forum topics was carried out by World Economy Study Center of Nankai University under the guidance and support of National Development and Reform Commission and Tianjin Municipal Government.

The 18 topics include: how emerging economies influence globalization; revitalization of developed countries’ manufacturing and intelligent manufacturing; emerging economies: a challenge to find a equilibrium point between economic growth and sustainability; adjustment of global trade pattern; innovation of financial system and effectiveness of financial regulation; new energy map and new energy---mining of shale gas; information publicity and media’s professional ethics; diversification of university function; differentiation of emerging industries and invention encouragement; market demand transition and enterprise innovation; development and using of alternative energy; RMB exchange rate regime and internationalization of RMB; slowdown of Chinese economic growth and shift of economic growth mode; aging society: we are all in it; construction of smart cities; engine of regional economy’s autonomous growth; exploring modes of sustainable urbanization, etc.

It is said that the research results of all forum topics this year will turn into a series of research report which will serve as references for the guests of the Summer Davos to have a profound discussion of the opportunities and challenges the world economy is facing and will face in the future.
