From January to August this year, Tianjin Port’s inland hinterland dry port handled container throughput of 180,000 standard containers, rising by 50% over the same period of the previous year. According to relevant personal from Tianjin Port Container Operation Department, with stable growth of dry port’s handling volume, Tianjin Port is actively improving dry port’s function as well as transformation of dry port to logistic park and industrial park. At present, Tianjin Port has established 23 dry ports including Shijiazhuang, Baotou and Huinong in inland hinterland, and on this basis, Tianjin Port has established four regional marketing centers in Xi’an, Yinchuan, Inner Mongolia and Zhangjiakou. Dry port construction and development have promoted the influencing and driving function of Binhai New Area’s development for hinterland economy.
