To fully reflect the tenet of a low-carbon, environmentally-friendly, thrifty and green forum, based on the construction of a beautiful Tianjin and under the theme of “Creating Value through Innovation”, the Tianjin Summer Davos Forum Preparatory Coordination Committee proposed a green plan for this session. The plan covers seven perspectives, 20 measures totaled, such as Green Meeting Place, Green Meeting Affairs, Green Participation, Green Transportation, Green Accommodation, Green Food and Green Publicization.

　　I. Green Meeting Place

　　1. Water conservation

　　The Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center (MJCEC) adopts water-saving utensils, and the landscape plant is watered by non-traditional water supply such as municipal reclaimed water and rain water etc. The rate of utilization hits 40%.

　　2. Smart electricity utilization

　　In MJCEC, it has a smart power distribution and management system and is installed with a set of energy-saving metering equipment. Making full use of natural light, it chooses high-efficient energy-saving lamp to realize light control over artificial lighting and to conserve energy and electricity.

　　3. Environmentally-friendly construction

　　The venue will showcase an economical style and will be constructed with environmental-friendly, compound and new materials. It will reclaim reusable furniture and articles, and will dispose the waste properly. Green plants and fresh flowers for the decoration of the New Champions Village will be cut down.

　　II. Green Meeting Affairs

　　4. Energy-saving equipment

　　The devices such as the host computer, display and projector will be set in an energy-saving mode. The standby time of office equipment such as the printer, drinker, copier and paper shredder will be reduced and will be turned off when it is not used.

　　5. High-efficient official business

　　The Forum will enrich the official network to scale up the information sharing scope, and to provide services such as electric registration and common data download. It will optimize the network to support high-speed WIFI and to facilitate the use of laptop. It will provide data and printing paper made of eco-friendly paper, which will be taken by guests according to their need. Double-sided printing and copying is highly recommended.

　　6. Reclaimed resources

　　Resources will be recycled and reclaimed. A green space station will be set up in the New Champions Village and in the office area, with recycling bins marked both in English and Chinese to guide guests to place different types of materials.

　　III. Green Participation

　　7. Seminar

　　Related experts, scholars and entrepreneurs will be organized to discuss and exchange opinions on circular economy, development of energy-conserving and environmentally-friendly industries, technical promotion, construction of an eco-city and green meeting etc. and will provide referable topics on green and environmental protection for the Topic Group of the Davos Forum.

　　8. Visit & experience

　　Guests and citizen representatives will be organized to visit strategic new industries, new-energy industries, townscape, model small towns and key sci-tech small and medium-sized enterprises etc. to have a direct reflection on notable achievements during the construction of a beautiful Tianjin.

　　IV. Green Transportation

　　9. Eco-friendly vehicle

　　Pure electric buses will be used in mass trip and venue commuting in the hotels, and fuel-saving sedans will be applied for the forum. Vehicle scheduling will be perfected to avoid no-load running. Around the MJCEC, electric shuttle buses and exclusive bicycles for the Davos Forum will be emplaced to ensure guests, volunteers and staff members to commute.

　　10. Low-carbon commuting

　　The vehicle routes will be honestly surveyed and scientifically designed. Traffic diversion and guide will be well prepared along the line of the venue and the reception hotels. The information on public transit and traffic flow will be released on time to pilot citizens to choose green commuting methods such as buses, metro, biking and walking.

　　V. Green Accommodation

　　11. Energy-saving tips

　　In hotel rooms, a card with energy-saving tips will be put to propose natural ventilation and temperature control and to save water and electricity.

　　12. Economical use

　　Single-use things will come into service economically and guests will be proposed to use daily necessities such as comb, toothbrush and slippers repeatedly. The cotton textiles as towels and coverlets in guestrooms will be replaced according to guests’ need. The self-service food in the restaurant will be taken according to needs to avoid waste.

　　VI. Green Food

　　13. Healthy food

　　The Forum will give first rank to ecological products that won national certificate and green food, safe food and organic food that got Tianjin certificate, which have a safe and controllable food supply chain in purchase, transportation and processing.

　　14. Scientific cooking

　　The food habits of guests will be fully respected and food will be prepared according to needs. Energy-saving kitchen ranges will be equipped to make the best of food.

　　15. Environmentally-friendly tableware

　　Repeatable environmentally-friendly container will be used in packaging and transportation. Degradable materials will be adopted in external packing. Single-use tableware will be decreased.

　　16. Harmless treatment

　　Enterprises will be appointed for kitchen refuse harmless treatment and for centralized disposal.

　　VII. Green Publicization

　　17. Publicization on environmental protection

　　The idea of a green, environmentally-friendly and ecological Tianjin Summer Davos Forum will be greatly promoted. Corresponding labels will be made and put up in meeting venues, vehicles, restaurants and office areas. State organs, enterprises, public institutions and community residents will be encouraged to actively participate in the publicization to lead citizens to take care of surroundings voluntarily.

　　18. Concept training

　　Trainings on “ecological civilization”, “sustainable development” and manipulative skill will be carried out to staff members, volunteers, drivers and hotel managers to enhance their awareness of environmental protection and service quality.

　　19. Green angel

　　A part of volunteers will be selected as “Green Angels” to lead guests in the registration area, to hand out green manuals, and to publicize beautiful Tianjin and measures on green forum.

　　20. Sweet memory

　　Environmentally-friendly materials will be adopted in promotional handout, such as post card, to fully showcase Tianjin’s historical background and cultural features.
