Before the opening of the Summer Davos in China’s northern coastal city of Tianjin, Premier Li Keqiang reiterated his belief that China would achieve its 7.5 percent GDP growth target this year.

The premier says that’s because China is using targeted and structural policy adjustments and "strong reform" rather than "strong stimulus" to bolster the economy. Li also said that policy makers are focused on channelling more funds to agriculture, small and micro businesses, emerging industries and hi-tech sectors.

The premier also said that it’s difficult for China to avoid short-term fluctuations in growth but the country can’t rely on loose credit to aid its economy. Li is to deliver a keynote speech at the forum in an hour and a half.
