Tianjin Port is the highest-level artificial deep-water port in the world. Its cargo throughput and container throughput ranked the fourth and the tenth in the world respectively. It is the only port with cross-border passages converging three continental bridges in China, i.e. those from Manzhouli, Erlianhaote and Alashakou (Huorguosi), endowed with advantageous thoroughfares. The Tianjin Port Container Railway Center Station is under construction and will become the hub for the joint transportation of sea and rail for international containers in the port.

　　Huang Xingguo, Acting Secretary of Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Tianjin, expressed that facing multiple opportunities, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, pilot construction of Free Trade Zone, demonstration zone of national independent innovation, development and opening-up of Binhai New Area and the construction of “One Belt, One Road”, Tianjin would integrate the construction of “One Belt, One Road” with other major plans organically.

　　The plan of “One Belt, One Road” proposed intensified construction of Tianjin Port. “We cannot regard Tianjin Port simply as a logistic dock, but should attach more importance to its leading role to the Three-North regions, and its geographical advantage to major economies in northeast Asia, such as Japan and Korea，” said Zhou Liqun, deputy dean of Binhai Development and Research Institute of Nankai University.

　　The bonus of reform showed up rapidly. The online dry port platform, built last year, is the first online port system in China. Once a customer logs in, he/she can query real-time information of ship and cargo. Meanwhile, he can finish space booking, customs clearance, multimodal transport, yard assembly and disassembly, and insurance etc. all by himself. The port entry and exit will be as convenient as online shopping. Lately, Tianjin Municipal Transportation Commission signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Beijing Railway Administration, and made a leading breakthrough in transportation sector in executing the plan of “One Belt, One Road”.
