Tianjin Digital Art Museum

No. 12 Chengde Road is the former site of the Municipal Board of the former French concession in Tianjin. After the founding of the Peoples Republic of China, it has served as the office of the Tianjin Military Control Commission, the Tianjin Library, the Tianjin Children and Youth Library, the Tianjin Art Museum, and the office building of the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics. The Tianjin Ancient Cultural Street

 

The Tianjin Ancient Cultural Street is formerly known as Gongnan Street and Gongbei Street, determined out of the name Tianhou Temple. It is located outside the east gate of the old city and in the Sanchakou (a fork in the Haihe River) area. The Street, of rich cultural connotation and historical value, is the earliest gathering place of folk customs, culture and commerce in Tianjin, as well as the representative of the formation of the old city of Tianjin. It boasts a large number of cultural landscapes and historical buildings, which are renowned to both locals and domestic and foreign tourists. The Street is an important window for tourists to understand the folk customs of Tianjin and known as the city card of Tianjin. 

In 2003, this area was developed and rebuilt on a large scale. In 2006, the tourist area was basically completed, with a total area of 180,000 square meters. It has become a modern large-scale tourist area integrating eating, living, traveling, shopping and entertainment. It was named China Characteristic Commercial Street in 2005, rated as one of the first batch of national 5A scenic spots in 2007 and national tourism and leisure block in March 2023.

The Tianjin Ancient Cultural Street has a profound historical and cultural atmosphere, and boasts charming old buildings and famous figures in modern times which are of great cultural value. It boasts the nearly 700-year-old Tianhou Temple, the over 650-year-old Yuhuang Pavilion, the over 230-year-old theater, and the over 110-year-old dwellings Tongqingli.
