On the afternoon of September 16, secretary of CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee Li Hongzhong and mayor of Tianjin Zhang Guoqing met Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum at Yingbin Hotel. Tianjin Municipal Government conferred the title of “Honorary Citizen of Tianjin” to Mr. Schwab.

　　Li said, “For many years, Mr. Schwab has made an important contribution to promote Tianjin’s exchange and cooperation with the world and we are very proud that you are a honorary citizen of Tianjin.”The World Economic Forum has become the weather vane to observe the tendency of the world’s economic policies. As the Summer Davos this year focusing on “Shaping Innovative Societies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, Tianjin would try its best to do the service work well, and learn cutting-edge views and ideas from all circles to try hard for the joint promotion of economic globalization.Schwab said that it was a great honor to be the honorary citizen of Tianjin. “Tianjin is a prospective city and embraces the Fourth Industrial Revolution sincerely.” The Forum would actively integrate into the Belt and Road Initiative and contribute to the deep promotion of economic globalization.

　　A short and solemn ceremony was held before the meeting. Zhang Guoqing presented the certificate of “Honorary Citizen of Tianjin” to Mr. Schwab.
